I can easily envision an /editor/ for 2D layers. How do you intend to edit a 3D layered sample.... and still have it be simple? (I'm not saying "it can't be done" but... you gotta draw the line *somewhere*.) > PS: Blasphemic side remark: I am wary of using hydrogen as > live performance drum sampler with the GUI running in X11, SVN HEAD already has a non-GUI version, I think you build it with 'gui=0'. <shameless_self_promotion> In addition, the Composite project[1] will release a Hydrogen-like sampler as an LV2 plug-in in a few days. It supports Hydrogen drum kits. Using lv2_jack_host (part of drobilla's slv2)[2] it constitutes another console sampler option. FWIW, it implements MIDI PC's for changing drumkits. </shameless_self_promotion> -gabriel [1] http://gabe.is-a-geek.org/composite/ [2] http://drobilla.net/software/slv2/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Download Intel® Parallel Studio Eval Try the new software tools for yourself.
