hi all ! in att another mockup that should contain all buttons (including those for destructive recording)
from left > right :
-hear on/off
-quantise on/off
-bar size
-resolution
-drum/note notation
-RMB right mouse button functions
-note length
-note on/off
-lead/lag
-pan
-velocity
-input mode drum/keyboard
-destructive rec mode
-play/rec mode (replaces the 'on rec' and 'on play' part of the
selection you make in 'parameter 1' > this shortens the text in
'parameter1')
-parameter 1 (have no clue what it means)
-parameter 2 (have _absolutely_ no idea what it means ;-)
question :
should the buttons/dropdowns that are inactive be invisible, or grayed out ?
invisible :
+ simplifies the gui
- a changing gui can be confusing for the user
- a changing gui may cause problems with window width when working on
small screens (the row of buttons can suddenly get wider)
grayed out :
+ the gui always looks the same
+ the inactive functions are easier to 'discover' for new users
- gui might become cluttered with irrelevant buttons
grtz
