IMHO :
- to be honest i think it is rather ugly (not elegant, not consistent with
the rest of the gui)
- you need to click the dropdown arrow to see the available options
- you need to click 2x to select a specific RMB function (dropdown arrow +
select function)
- icons just work better for me (hydrogen has one of the slickest gui's and
buttons are more intuitive to use)

agree (but i couldnt come up with anything better > how about
'on_play-rec.png' in att ?)
maybe we should keep the combo including the 'on play' and 'on rec' part
but the place needed for this text is more than the space needed for 2
buttons
(see 'on_play.png' in att)
NOTE : this is assuming that we replace all regular combo boxes with the
'LCD' combos (imo this is a _must_ to keep the look consistent) and these
do indeed take up more space than the regular combo boxes

glad i'm not the only one that doesnt know what these do ;-)

i agree, that is also why i wanted to uses icons iso dropdown lists, to
save space
'compare.png' in att shows the difference quite clear
current worst-case width : 760 px
proposal worst-case width : 625 px
