Birders,

It was a beautiful evening down at Saylorville with great light and
visibility. There are quite a few more birds there now than have been
there lately.

Especially prevalent this evening were the continuous flocks of moving
Franklin's Gulls and Double-crested Cormorants. Quite large flocks of
both were continually moving south, some in fairly high strings. We
had:

Long-billed Dowitcher (1, Jester Park)
American Golden-Plover (1, Jester Park)
Lesser Yellowlegs, Least Sandpiper, Pectoral Sandpiper, and Killdeer
Pied-billed Grebe (50+)
Franklin's Gull (~350)
Caspian Tern (~40)
Forster's Tern (8)
Double-crested Cormorant (600-800)

Lastly, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are still going strong here at our
feeders in west Ames.

Good Birding,
