After a brief squall with high winds I noticed a bird's nest had been blown
out of a spruce tree in our yard. After the rain I investigated and found
an empty nest, fairly round, about 9-10" diameter. What was particuliar was
some of the items woven into the nest. Along with bits of grass, pine
needles, and sticks were a few bits of cloth, some poly-fill batting, a
feather or two and a cigarette butt.

Nest was too big for robins which often use that tree, and I hadn't seen
other bigger birds around it. Blue Jay maybe?
