The birding was exceptional this evening, Oct. 7 at Chipera
Prairie. Wonderful lighting and little wind only added to
the enjoyment. Birds observed included downy and hairy
woodpeckers, northern flicker, 2 eastern phoebes, blue jays,
black-capped chickadees,  white-breasted nuthatches, 10
golden-crowned kinglets, 8 ruby-crowned kinglets, 4 hermit
thrush, 40 American robins, 3 orange-crowned warblers, 150
yellow-rumped warblers, 1 palm warbler, 2 field sparrows, 9
fox sparrows, 7 song sparrows, 2 swamp sparrows, 50
white-throated sparrows, 10 dark-eyed juncos, northern
cardinals and 50 American goldfinches.
