Birders, Steve Dinsmore and I took a quick trip to Harrier Marsh in Boone county this morning. Our target species was Yellow Rail and although we struck out on it, we got great looks at some very cooperative Le Conte's Sparrows. Other sparrows were present as well including several Savannah and Swamp Sparrows, a single Grasshopper Sparrow and Lincoln's Sparrow, and a few Nelson's Sparrows. Some photos can be seen at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tmharms/
Other birds seen included 6 species of waterfowl and single Northern Harrier. -- Tyler M.
