IOU Silent Auction
Once again, we will be holding a silent auction at the upcoming IOU Fall
meeting at Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge on Oct. 22-24. It will begin
on Friday Oct 22 and conclude after the banquet on Saturday evening. Last
Spring, thanks to generous contributors and generous bidders, $411 was raised
to support the IOU’s superlative publications. These auctions are made up of
books, artwork, birding gear, knick-knacks, and other items of interest to
birders, and provide a great opportunity to pass along things you no longer
need while providing others an opportunity to enjoy new treasures.
I am hopeful that you will search your bookshelves and closets for items to
donate. You can drop by things at my home in Des Moines or, better yet, bring
them with you to the meeting. If you have questions about donations, please
feel free to contact me.
