This morning at Saylorville, the first decent sized group of diving ducks had 
arrived.  It included:
580 Lesser Scaup4 Greater Scaup47 Redheads7 Canvasback1 Black Scoter -- f/imm 
off Sandpiper Beach67 Ruddy Ducks2 Red-breasted Mergansers
The duck flocks also contained nearly 300 Northern Pintail, the continuing 
Western Grebe, and 6 Horned Grebes.
Shorebirds at Jester included:
395 Killdeer5 Black-bellied Plovers4 American Avocets (first found by John 
Bissell at Lincoln Access before they relocated to Jester)24 Least Sandpipers4 
Baird's Sandpipers4 Pectoral Sandpipers1 Greater Yelowlegs
Lastly, pipits were on the move with several on the Jester mudflats, a flock of 
30+ at Cherry Glen, and small numbers calling overhead at several spots.
