A Red-shouldered Hawk was perched along our small creek in NE Boone County this evening. 1/4 mile south of 170th on V Ave., west side of the road. It allowed me to approach quiet close before it flew 100 yards up the creek, red shoulders and brightly banded tail clearly evident.
