A male Purple Finch stopped by our feeders this morning. We always enjoy
the vibrant color of the male house finches as breeding season nears, but
this Purple Finch was a real stunner with the sunlight striking his
plummage. Later today, north of Greencastle Aviation we came upon a pair
of Hooded Mergansers in a small roadside pond near the marsh area. Julie
