Interesting birds seen in Van Buren County in SE Iowa this morning included:

1 Northern mockingbird in cedar trees along 240th St. south of Lacey-Keosauqua 
State Park
1 Ross's goose at the marsh just west of Mt. Sterling
15 American white pelicans at the Mt. Sterling marsh
9 Double-crested cormorants at the same marsh
1 Greater yellowlegs at a wetland just west of the Mt. Sterling marsh
2 Tree swallows at this same wetland

Also:
1 Merlin along IA Hwy 103 just west of West Point in Lee County

Numerous Eastern meadowlarks and Song sparrows were singing on territory.
