Hi,
This morning I check on the snowy owl at the Great Plains Dairy, Ida County on 130th street northwest of Holstein. The owl was indeed on the power pole just across the county pavement from the dairy barn. I am told by workers that it spends some time in the large barns dinning on starlings or rock doves. I then dove to the Sloan area in Woodbury County and found a snowy on Emett Ave and 300th street. It was sitting on an irrigation pump in the middle of the field just to the southwest of that location. We also drove around Owego Wetland and had two great horned owls there. On returning to Ida County, I checked Moorehad Park west of Ida Grove, and found three northern-
saw-whet owls.

Great weather for birding,

Don Poggensee
