I spotted the Snowy Owl this morning at 8:00 AM at the Eastern Iowa Airport from Walford Road near the intersection with 18th Street Southwest. The owl was perched on a runway light inside the airfield perimeter (i.e. on the north side of Walford Rd within the chain link fence). I observed it with binoculars for about 15 minutes before it flew west and north. I drove back to Cherry Valley Road to see if it might have relocated there where others have observed it, but no luck. But I did see a couple of male Horned Larks on a snow bank on the roadside.
