Last evening, 3/12, we went with Jim and Sandy Kovanda to Lake Manawa in
Council Bluffs to view American Woodcocks. From about 7:30 to 8:30 there were
woodcocks calling and flying all around us in the fields surrounding the
parking lot on the south side of the lake. It was difficult to tell how many
there were, but would estimate between 6 and 8. We also saw 4 Franklin's Gulls
and 8 Herring Gulls in with the large Ring-billed Gull flock on the lake.
