Hello birders,

Forney Lake in Fremont County had 3 Neotropic Cormorants hanging out on
muskrat mounds, seen from the east end of the south side of lake by little
pump station building. Got excellent views, sorry their distance exceeded
the camera. Eventually a couple Double-crested joined them. Enjoyed
watching them with Keith D. who refound the stunning male Cinnamon Teal.

On our way (to look for the Mottled Ducks that we missed on) stopped at
Arbor Lodge SHP in Nebraska City to check for Pine Warblers in the same
area we saw this species years ago. After over an hour in the pine stand
north of the Morton mansion we finally heard a singing PIWA and got a
pretty good view as he preened in between songs. Marginal photo posted on
NEbirds just barely shows white wing bars, yellow eye spectacle, white
lower belly/undertail coverts. He sounded like a chippy who had voice
lessons.
