I briefly checked Jester late this afternoon and found a small but diverse
shorebird flock (<100 birds, 15 species) which included:
4 Black-bellied Plovers
7 Ruddy Turnstones -- the most I have seen in Iowa
1 Marbled Godwit
1 Wilson's Phalarope
Also, 25+ Dunlin, Short-billed Dowitchers, and White-rumped Sandpipers. There
were good numbers of Caspian and Black terns present, and I saw the previously
reported Northern Mockingbird harassing the local robins.
