This morning 7 SANDHILL CRANES were grouped on the largest mud flat
at Hawkeye. They dwarfed the numerous Franklin's Gulls and other birds
in their vicinity.
A pair of adult MUTE SWANS continue at the upper end of the north
arm of Lake Macbride.
I found over a dozen NELSON'S SPARROWS and a lone Rusty Blackbird
at the mouth of Hoosier Creek in Coralville Lake. Boots were needed
and the vegetation was dense.
