I decided tonight to try out some of my owling stuff this evening in my backyard. I have had some concerns about the E. Screech Owls in Ottosen (we recently cleaned out some old trees and I have heard on a number of evening Great Horned Owls in town). However, this evening at about 6:45 I called in two adult E. Screech Owls, which I don't think were a breeding pair, if their behavior was anything to go by. I know Screech Owls have been getting a look at by a number of people due to some surprising BBA numbers so hopefully this is just a case of low reporting and not a reflection of real population trends.
