Any species with three asterisks (***species***) would represent a first record for Iowa (UNRECORDED) and should be observed and documented very carefully. Species with two asterisks (**species**) are species that are either ACCIDENTAL, CASUAL, or a rare regular species, and should also be documented. Species with one asterisk (*species) should have some details of the observation provided. *NORTH CENTRAL:* * * FRANKLIN COUNTY: WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen at the Hampton Cemetery on the 8th. CERRO GORDO COUNTY: A LONG-TAILED DUCK was seen at Clear Lake on the 8th. HANCOCK COUNTY: 11 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen at the Garner Cemetery on the 8th. * * * * *EAST*: SCOTT COUNTY: An EARED GREBE was seen along Concord Dr by the 280 bridge on the 7th. RED CROSSBILLS and WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen at Fairmount Cemetery on the 12th. EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen at a feeding station near the Fairmount Cemetery on the 14th. *SOUTHEAST*: JEFFERSON COUNTY: A BARN OWL was seen in a field 2.5 miles west of Packwood on County Rd H17 on the 8th. *CENTRAL:*** * * *POLK COUNTY:* *A SURF SCOTER continues to be seen in a residential pond across Highway 415 from Cherry Glen on the 8th. It was last seen on the 9th.* * * *82 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen at Big Creek on the 7th.* * * *2 late DUNLIN were seen at Jester Park on the 9th.* * * *A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen at Saylorville on the 11th.* * * * * * * * * * * * * *WEST:* * * *CARROLL COUNTY:* *2 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen in Carroll on the 10th.* * * *POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY:* *A GLAUCOUS and a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL were seen at Lake Manawa on the 11th.* * * *2 GOLDEN EAGLES were seen at Hitchcock NA on the 9th.* * * *A PRAIRIE FALCON was seen at Hitchcock NA on the 11th.* * * * * * * * * *NORTHWEST:* * * *WOODBURY COUNTY:* *2 PRAIRIE FALCONS were seen on the 9th.
