Greetings from western Iowa. This is not your typical bird posting but rather an inquiry into birding tech, and associated material. I have been involved with the Ida County Conservation Foundations efforts to raise money for a Conservation Center to be built in Moorehead Park. Through generous donations we will be breaking ground on the center this spring! A major donation to our bird room will allow us to provide the public with some very up to date technology.
My thoughts have centered on several Ipads/tablets connected to the internet. Would an Ipad or one of the numerous tablet products make sense? I like how small and portable these devices are, plus the multimedia capabilities would be a huge asset. Is there a preference of one over the other. I don't believe price will be an issue. I would also be interested in your thoughts/suggestions for bookmarks on birds in general and Iowa in particular. Also is there any digital interactive software guide that could be used? Look forward to hearing from you.
