Any species with three asterisks (***species***) would represent a first record for Iowa (UNRECORDED) and should be observed and documented very carefully. Species with two asterisks (**species**) are species that are either ACCIDENTAL, CASUAL, or a rare regular species, and should also be documented. Species with one asterisk (*species) should have some details of the observation provided. *NORTH CENTRAL:* * * HANCOCK COUNTY: 2 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen at the Garner Cemetery on the 16th. * * * * *EAST*: LINN COUNTY: 5 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen at Cedar Memorial Cemetery on the 17th. SCOTT COUNTY: A COMMON REDPOLL was seen at a feeder in Davenport on the 16th. A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at Lock and Dam 14 on the 16th. A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen along the LeClair riverfront on the 16th. CLINTON COUNTY: A KUMLIENS GULL was seen along the Mississippi River on the 16th. *CENTRAL:* * * *POLK COUNTY:* *20 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen at a feeder in Ankeny on the 16th. 4 were still around on the 21st.* * * *STORY COUNTY:* *A PRAIRIE FALCON flew over a residence in Ames on the 15th.* * * *4 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen at a feeder in Ames on the 17th.* * * *TAMA COUNTY:* *A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen at Otter Creek Lake Park on the 17th.* * * * * * * * * *WEST:* * * *GUTHRIE COUNTY:* *3 GOLDEN EAGLES were seen at the Springbrook WMA on the 20th. They were seen along the river 1 mile south of Springbrook SP.* * * * * * * * * *NORTHWEST:* * * *HUMBOLDT COUNTY:* *COMMON REDPOLLS continue to be seen at a feeder in Ottosen on the 18th. 1 was still present on the 22nd.* * * *14 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen at South Indian Hills Cemetery on the 22nd.* * * *KOSSUTH COUNTY:* *A HOARY REDPOLL was seen with COMMON REDPOLLS at a feeder at the maintenance shop on the SE corner of Smith Lake on the 20th.
