Among the estimated 400 shorebirds at Jester tonight I could only ID 9
species. 3 semipalmated Plover, 50 Killdeer,3 lesser Yellowlegs, 2 Spotted
sandpiper, 30 Semipalmated Sandpiper, 3 juvenile Western (bills longer than
head, thick at base, and turned down, probing, rufous on scapulars, and
black legs), 60 Least Sandpiper, 240 Pectoral Sandpiper, and 12 Stilt.
Some are very close, but most are way out and hard to ID. Ray Cummins
