I had good scoping at Lake Red Rock this morning, finding
30+ Common Loons but modest numbers of waterfowl. Bonaparte's
and Ring-billed Gulls were scattered everywhere. Of the 5 gull
species present, was an adult THAYER'S GULL at the beach.

An interesting sight was a N. Harrier working the open water
and flushing small gulls. Maybe it was just practicing.

I also stopped at Otter Creek Marsh and was surprised to count
95 SANDHILL CRANES in the refuge.

The shorebirds at the barn's pool were 2 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS,
6 Dunlins, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, and 2 Killdeer. No others were
present as I checked the entire pool.
