1) This is complex as Luke's coordinating the election as I understand it, but I want to make sure he's given a fair/open/transparent shot (without conflict of interest) should he decide to run for office himself, as I (*) strongly believe he should.
Not sure his own opinion of course, but there has been no more stellar OLPC/Sugar volunteer over the past 3 years, conscientiously supporting learners worldwide at almost every level, including fixing their hardware, ethically running a business -- and perhaps most important resolving disputes peaceably, and diplomatically. I gather the guy's still in high school too and busy applying to universities, which might also an issue I suppose, Luke? :) 2) I just created the page http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Oversight_Board/2010-2011-candidates to encourage more candidates to run, and could easily add 5 others to the list-of-the-willing, but please if folks could help take this very seriously editing that (without too many write-in candidates ;) as I don't want to be the only one!!! 3) Everyone please remember to email [email protected] by Oct 1 if you want to vote in Sugar Labs' annual election, which you SHOULD do if you are participating in our effort -- remember there's a $20 fine in Australia if you don't vote -- and yes Please be as vain^h^h^h^hproud as possible including a list of your Learning/Sugar-related contributions in the email :) 4) Watch this grow http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Sugar_Labs/Members/List :) _______________________________________________ IAEP -- It's An Education Project (not a laptop project!)
