The trouble is, IBM has to be very careful in what it implies. What happens if its bigwigs decide internally that, say MVS should no longer be developed because new customers should go to other platforms that IBM is working on? If it they decided that, they certainly would not want to let us know until they were ready for our response. Well, replacing TSO might have similar consequences on a smaller scale. Companies that are thinking about their next applications upgrade are biased to use platforms that they are familiar with that cost less to train users on. If they hear that TSO is going away, they see "We'll have to train people anyway, it doesn't matter what platform we go to". So IBM is better off if we don't hear that TSO is going away - at least until their salesmen have something better to show us. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
