Hi, Paul, Another free source is:
http://www.tech-news.com/ I used this page: http://www.tech-news.com/publib/pl2064.html which has all of the z900 (2064) models I needed to support migration decisions last year from 9672s. All was going fine until I ran into the not insignificant differences between Gartner, et al, in the MIPS ratings. This influenced ISV charges based on MIPS. Some of the numbers in the "for fee" sources were about 30 MIPS lower for the machine we went with, based on the differences between OS/390 and z/OS benchmarks. If you have ISVs that charge you by the increasingly less meaningful MIPS rather than MSUs, it may be worth it to get the "for fee" numbers, if your ISV will base your contracts on those numbers. (Plus, if you got Ms. Walker's package you would get all that great info.) (One ISV had the laughable position of finding the HIGHEST of all published values telling us that we were free to choose what OS we used, but they knew the box was CAPABLE of the higher value so they gigged us for it. They are on my list to terminate this product when I can.) Phil's pages are wonderful, and I get a real kick out of his positions on things, but I don't see all of the z900s on his version. Enjoy, Peter Duffy LA, CA, USA MF Consultant, who's about to be a real employee again! :-) --- Paul Hanrahan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Shane, > > Walker wants me to pay for a chart.
