The topic of the thread is "TSO Replacement". Unix Services was cited (not exactly proposed) (not initially by me) as a replacement candidate. Another set of respondents (with considerable overlap) noted the need for continued availability of the venerable TSO services. "address 'TSO' whatever" provides such availability in Unix Services, with the significant advantage over /bin/tso that it's possible to issue more than one TSO command within the lifespan of the spawned TSO address space. (e.g. ALLOCATE; CALL). Small steps are being made toward a TSO alternative. We're not there yet. -- gil -- StorageTek INFORMATION made POWERFUL ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
