Hello,
I'm seeing on tape on msg some media types after dsname that I can't find
the meaning exactly. Example:
IEC705I TAPE ON
3124,G75147,SL,COMP,EMM006XX,IKJEFT01.PPPP1000,PCCCCCC.FFFFFF.EMH006XX,MEDIA
0
IEC705I TAPE ON
3124,G76128,SL,COMP,EMH006XX,IKJEFT01.PPPP1000,PCCCCCC.FFFFFF.EMH006XX,MEDIA
1
On this case there 2 types of media for the same dataset.
The closest thing that I think of is:
"MEDIA1=xxxx
xxxx specifies a 2-byte hexadecimal value to be used as the 3490 standard
capacity (CST) scratch category code.
MEDIA2=xxxx
xxxx specifies a 2-byte hexadecimal value to be used as the 3490 enhanced
capacity (ECST) scratch category code."

However there's no MEDIA0. Can anyone give me an hint ??

IMHO that would mean reel tape or undefined type of tape.
MEDIA1-5 (or 1-8) are used for 3494 library in DFSMSdfp (not RMM).
MEDIA1=xxxx is used in DEVSUPxx member for 3494 partitioning.

What's you tape mgmt system ? IF RMM then check the volser in RMM - it should be CST for MEDIA1 and '*' for reels or undefined.
