Think Argonne National and VPI both built Supercomputers based  on
Playstations. But the compilers and programs are vastly different
in many respects from the typical von Neuman architecture.  
Tera-flops(Floating point) is almost as misleading as MIPS.
 
True LSPR numbers should come down as the testing centers and
software folks start exploiting the new bandwidth. AS Senior Haffi
insightfully points out, new methods of coding are required.  Also
new methods of debugging. The original meaning of PSI was Problem
Specification and Identification. For the battle scarred veterans
training will have to be refreshed. That's where SHARE really
stands out. Shops that have been there amongst the developers and
vendors trying to make all the pieces fit together like one of
those all blue jigsaw monstrosity...
