Subject: Re: Need RACF help defining lowercase ID
Waiting for z/OS 1.7 is not an option for a number of reasons - the
first being that I'm running on an MP3000 - 1.7 won't run
there. Can I
get verification from somebody that I for sure can't use
lower-case RACF
ID's on z/OS 1.4?
z/OS 1.7 allows for lower case __passwords__, not __userids__.
The only way that I know of to do this is to use the ICHEINTY macro.
This requires you to write an APF authorized program. There is no way
that I know of to do this with any supplied program or command.
John, don't tell him about ICHEINTY. With the amount of RACF proficiency
displayed in the postings, this would be like giving a loaded gun to a
four-year-old.
And please no replies like: "my four-year-old knows how to handle guns
perfectly" :-)
