Hi Paul, In my opinion, this is less a JCL issue and more a JES job management issue. For JES3, the Initialization and Tuning Guide gives an elaborate description of C/I phase, which includes cataloged data sets resolution, followed by a description of resource allocation. For JES2, I fould less documentation in the Initialization and Tuning Guide, but It might give you some direction.. Hope this helps, Gil.
