True. And, at least some, management is beginning to understand that you simply cannot compare a z running z/VM & Linux to an Intel server running VMWare (or other virtualization software) and Linux. Way back in the z800 days, our management (now ex-) did that. They determined that the z800 was simply too expensive compared to Intel and didn't run Windows, to boot! They even did a comparison. One z800/IFL in a 2 Gb LPAR, running an old version of SuSE compared to an 8-way, 10 Gb RAM Intel running a current Red Hat version, running a CPU intensive, multithreaded, process.
