> Is there really a hard requirement to use 'TSOE EDIT'

Circa 1980, I was installing SPF on an IPO-built system. My SE was
helping. When we started to editing the jobs, he said "Edit". Then "FSE"
for Fullscreen Edit (IIRC from Palm Beach Associates for a whopping
$200). Edit returned a message "subcommand FSE not found". He was
absolutely stunned that we had to use the line-mode editor to install
SPF. Edit was obsolete a quarter of a century ago.
