Hello,

First a big thank to Jan, Ravi and Tom for their lights on this subject !

I will try to make a diagram of the different times involved in the SMF30
records before initiation time to complete my analyses thanks to your
informations.

Another question about these following lines from Tom response :

"11.08.15 JOB94550 ---- TUESDAY, 01 JUN 2010 ----
This is when the first message is placed in the job log for the job. This
is when the data set is created. In general, the first message for a job is
the RACF message that the job has been authenticated and assigned a userid.
This occurs at the end of input processing (when JES2 realizes that it has
a complete job)."

==> Is there a SMF Data zone where we could find the "End of input
processing time" or the "Input processing times for the job" ?

And finally :

==> Why in some cases could we see some "Waiting Time for init (SMF30SQT)" >
"Time between Reader time (SMF30RST) and Start time (SMF30SIT)" ?

Best regards,

Thierry Déléris
