I never did say why I was asking. In SAS 9.2, we already support z/OS software distribution via FTP, but there are a significant number of customers for whom FTP is not an acceptable option. Having said that, I have suggested to SAS Technical Support *numerous* times that they implement FTP software delivery as a minimum.
