I'm not sure you are likely to find any documentation on how to define sysplexes with the same name on the same CPC. I believe most people would say that the risks out weight the benefits, therefore they would avoid it. That kind of configuration could be difficult to validate, manage, etc. Therefore I would never recommend it.
That said, it is possible. The hardware does not care about sysplex names. You just have to ensure that the two sysplexes do not share any sysplex related resources (such as CFs, couple data sets, etc.) > -----Original Message----- > From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On > Behalf Of Steve Austin > Sent: Tuesday, November 02, 2010 1:00 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: SYSPLEX names in a CPC > > Hello, > > > > Does anyone have any idea where I might find documentation that will > tell me whether it is possible to have multiple sysplexes in a CPC > share > the same sysplex name? > > > > Thanks > > > > Steve > > > - --------------------------------------------------------------------- > --- > This email has been scanned for all known viruses by the MessageLabs > Email > Security Service and the Macro 4 internal virus protection system. > . --------------------------------------------------------------------- > --- > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, > send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO > Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
