I find customers know, like and use the -3/-9 (in particular) concept;
with -27 catching on.
Fiddling with volume sizes to "optimize" the hardware might work in Eds
place, but not in a real working shop I fear. Too much history, too many
variables - multiple vendors, varying (backend) disk size.
I am quite happy for the customer to do as they wish - I go round and claim
all the "scrag ends". CSVs ( for catalogs and CDS e.g.) and page packs
result - with minimal internal paper-warfare.
