What's "compression"? It taxes my understanding that the EFC
can handle arbitrary binary data except that it balks at that
which is "created using compression". Are there other restrictions
on binary data?

Or does it simply mean to aver that data compressed subsequent
to encryption can not be decrypted prior to decompression?

The Java client does not understand how to understand files that are compressed (using processor-based compression) and then encypted. It only knows how to decrypt.
