Only if it is a PDS - If it is a PDSE then the ZAPPED version is rewritten to a new location which would case problems if the PDSE went into a new extent (due to the available free space being less then the size of the module - space that gets recovered and reusable after the save, BTW) except that a PDSE counts as only one extent and thus would not cause any problem except for anyone who has an old pointer to the location of the pre-zapped version and tries to use it after/if the freed space gets reused.
