I mount the target system HFS files under the /Service paths. The serverpac setup all the HFS paths to include /Service prior to the real path. I will shutdown the target system prior to applying maintenance.

If I run SMP/e from another system its HFS files will get modified. If I mount clones of the HFS files on the driving system, will anybody else be able to do any work (on our systems programming system) while I apply maintenance? Perhaps these are dumb questions, which are already answered by IBM manuals, but we are used to apply maintenance on live systems and are now considering the alternative, because we've had problems with our current procedures, so if you could point me to an appropriate manual, if the answer proves to be too long, I'd be very appreciative. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
