My apologies: for the second question I was more concerned with the "classic" MVS files. I actually have a handle (for the most part) on the Unix end of things.
Thanks, Jon <snip> > > 2) How do you point your SMPE environment to the cloned > system? Do you use different dataset names or just use the > SMPE JCL or DDDEFS to override the volume serial numbers for > the target datasets? You cannot do it that way. You must create a new set of "mount points" onto which to do MOUNT commands to mount the HFS files. That is the reason for the /Service subdirectory. You must then point the UNIX files' PATH entries in the DDDEFs to the /Service subdirectory. Once everything is MOUNT'ed correctly, the maintenance will go into the cloned HFS files. </snip> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
