Maybe they did. I wouldn't know. I do know, though, that we haven't lost so much as a bit of data due to Iceberg/RVA/SVA/V2X DASD for the years that we have had it. Works fine for us. It must have seemed OK to IBM, too, since they were selling it at one point.
