Patrick and Daniel, I think that "note" may sound more alarming than it should. The "communication errors" that may be caused are not very likely and, for any one application, may never be experienced. I expect the "should not happen" refers to when the "reset keyboard" bit in a Write Control Character (WCC) has not - yet - been received.
But then the mystery is why should it be necessary to override normal operation in this way in order to solve "bad behaviour". This is what we had to do to our Extra! sessions. This is straight from Attachmate support. HTH, Patrick Lyon EXTRA! Configuration Change for Problem with X() “X Clock” when typing 1. Open the session document in Notepad or a similar text editor by right clicking on the shortcut on the desktop. 2. Scroll through the file and locate the [Terminal] section. 3. Under the [Terminal] section, enter the following text: WCCResetClock=TRUE Note: This text is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as shown. 4. Save the file and exit. NOTE: This entry always causes a reset of the X-clock on the OIA, even in situations where it should not happen. This can cause further communication errors as it allows the end-user to send data to the host while the host is not expecting to receive data. Therefore, this workaround should be used with caution. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
