Dr, Rannie is still at NIU, and is also still active at SHARE. However, Dr.
Rainey is at NIU because of the school's long history of teaching IBM
Mainframe's, not the other way around. The history of the NIU Computer
Science program dates back to the early '70's under the direction of William
Singletary and Ross Overbeek, authors of the Assembler With ASSIST textbook.

Someone mentioned Northern Illinois University once before. Is the former
Oak Ridge employee, long time Paddle Porter, around, or did that program
come out of his efforts? Robert Rainey (those thoughts take longer to come
to the foreground).
