Back in the days of paper dumps, we used to get dumps from certain
government agencies with lines carefully blacked out or sometimes even
razored out!!
These days I think all you can do is to get some management-type to make
an intelligent decision weighing the sensitivity of the data vs the need
to get the problem solved.
Yea, I know that management and intelligent are often incompatible
