I noticed that when I perform a FTP function from Mainframe (I am using FTP to retrieve jcls) to my pc I notice that sequence numbers appear on the file. How can I prevent these annoying sequence numbers from appearing on the output?

It is a problem with ftp or file transmission. The problem is the sequence numbers are really in your members! The numbers are the *content* as well as slashes at the beginning of JCL line.

How to fix it:
Just ...don't use sequence numbers.
When editing member issue UNNUM command to erase the numbers. Then you can use NONUM. BTW: it is very likely that you or anyone else will enter in NUMBER mode by mistake and re-create the numbers.
