ARG! Yes, I am fairly sure that it does. That's why SDSF is APF
authorized. So it can bypass any RACF restrictions on opening HASPACE
and HASPCKPT. But I still maintain that if the volume only has a single,
permanent, dataset (regardless of what the dataset is), then an INDEX is
totally unnecessary unless the volume is SMS managed. I can see this
scenario for volumes in a DB2 storage group (few datasets, rarely
created, but SMS managed).
