Ted, Well, I've managed to become confused again by all this back an forth. So, if I may, please let me state what I think is being said. If I have a single CEC, it is better to run all the workload (save perhaps a sandbox or some such) in a single LPAR. I fail to see how two or more LPARs in a single box can outperform a single LPAR, doing the same aggregate work. If I have multiple CECs, then it would be to my advantage to segregate the workload so that all TSO and perhaps TEST run on a separate LPAR on a separate CEC from production. This I can understand. If it is a given that I have a single CEC and my CPU demand is consistantly 100%, then I totally fail to see the plus of multiple LPARs.
