This issue arises time and again in this group/list.

You need to ensure that the session uses a mode table which

a) specifies the "query" bit, X'80', in the second byte of the PSERVIC
operand of the mode table entry
b) specifies the "X'03', in the penultimate byte of the PSERVIC operand of
the mode table entry

The supplied IBM mode table, ISTINCLM, has entries D4A32XX3 or D4C32XX3 for
use if the LU is really defined using the LU statement (SNA) and D4B32XX3 if
your LU is defined using a LOCAL statement ("non-SNA"). Thus you can specify
DLOGMOD=whichever of those names is appropriate on your LU or LOCAL
statement.

If you specify the name of a mode table entry in the sets of statements used
in your USS ("Unformatted System Services") table, then you need to adjust
the appropriate USSPARM macros.

You must configure the 3270 emulator I expect you are using to be the
"model" of the 3278 that corresponds to the presentation space dimensions
you want, 24x80 (2), 32x80 (3), 43x80 (4) or 27x132 (5).

If the application supports only the "model 2" size, that's what you will
see. If the application supports an alternative "model" size, the size you
specified with your emulator will be agreed between the application and the
emulator dynamically and that is the size you will see.

Please post again if this isn't clear.

Subject: Defining a display LU so the user can choose the terminal type

Hi,

How can I define a display LU so the user will be able to choose the
terminal type?

Most users like A Model 2 (24*80), but I would like the options to sue a
model 3 or even a model 5.
